JBLM Job Fair Showcases State Employment Opportunities

Education is a key advantage of attending a task fair, as about 40% of those who start with the TAP learn they’re “not ready to make that dive yet,” or they have seen the available opportunities and choose to continue serving, Gentz said.

“We see that basically every year,” he said. “We desire them to make an informed decision about their career.”

Part of the education piece is discovering financial resources, including credit reports, spending plans and “developing a savings so you have something to deal with when it’s time to go out,” Handoe said.

“Everybody’s going to get out of the Army at some point,” he said, “however while you’re in, are you doing everything you can to prepare to go out?”

Job fairs also exist to help individuals with networking, seeing what people in the outdoors world are trying to find – including accreditations, accreditations and education – and learning about their working with practices, Handoe said.

“You should be doing prep work now for what it is you want to do later down the roadway,” he stated.

That preparation work includes preparing for task fairs.

“You need to go into an employing reasonable with a strategy of what you’re going to do and not just meander around,” Handoe stated.
